The Two Types of Men
When it comes to relationships, I believe there are basically two types of men: protectors and predators.

I’ll describe each.

PROTECTORS
As the name implies, a protector is interested in protecting the heart, purity, and reputation of any woman he is in a relationship with. He wants to postpone sex until marriage, and his actions prove it.

A protector puts her needs before his own. The woman in his life feels completely safe: she feels loved, honored and at peace with her own conscience.

PREDATORS
A predator is not safe to be with.
He is primarily interested in his own wants, and women are simply a means to that end.

A predator can be charming, smooth, persuasive, and manipulative—after all, he must carefully disguise his true nature and intentions. He seeks his own gratification, indifferent to the harm he causes.
Sooner or later, the woman in his life loses: she loses her innocence, self-respect, and maybe more.

Ladies, what kind of men are you choosing?
Men, what kind of man are you choosing to be?

Tip:
Don’t be preoccupied with a MATE. (that’s the way the world thinks and acts)

Be preoccupied with GOD’s ASSIGNMENT. (that’s what a disciple does)

This seems to be true for a majority of Filipino women who prefer to marry for money rather than looks, according to a survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) released yesterday.
The pre-Valentine survey showed 51 percent of Filipino women wouldn’t mind marrying a rich but ugly man.
This means the remaining 46 percent would rather marry a good-looking guy even if he were poor.

Wisdom Says …

“It is wise to learn from experience and much wiser to learn from the experiences of others”

"Don't leave that girl or boy without any godly reason and a desire to serve God and others
    YOU WILL JUST BE DEPRESSED!" In fact that's why most young people enter this
    boyfriend - girlfriend business because they are depressed and bored in life!

IF YOU LEAVE WITHOUT GOD'S LEADING FOR YOU TO SERVE HIM YOU WILL
    JUST END UP WITH ANOTHER GIRL OR BOY ALONG THE ROAD OF ROMANCE.
    Remember romance is never love and love is never romance!
    It is just a part of it -- and it must better be in marriage and marriage alone, or at least when you     are seriously thinking of entering marriage!

DON'T PLAY MARRIAGE if you are not yet married!

If you are doing something in the Kingdom of God, you will not be BORED! (NEVER!!!)
    You will sleep with it ...
    You will talk about it ...
    You will eat with it ...
    You will dream it ...
You will pray for it ...
    You will have disciples around it ...
    Do the works of God! "... he who wins souls is wise" (Proverbs 11:30)

The point of MMM is not that you will have NO GIRLFRIEND or NO BOYFRIEND
    and do nothing or being idle
    BUT
    if you have a girlfriend / boyfriend you LAY THEM ASIDE for they are DISTRACTIONS.
    They would lessen your FOCUS … worse YET if they are your FOCUS-INSPIRATION instead     of God.
    Do not use them FOR GOD! Be WITH GOD 1ST!

You should be possessed by the CALL of God to lead others, to pray for others and save some!
    Therefore you even to a point leave these special people behind for a higher call in the Lord Jesus Christ. God makes beautiful everything in His Time. Do not force the issue yet. Do not be a grabber … be a “surrenderer”!

Master-Mission-Mate is about SURRENDER!

Remember The Isaac Principle (lay it at the altar)

“When they arrived at the place where God had told Abraham to go, he built an altar and placed the wood on it. Then he tied Isaac up and laid him on the altar over the wood.” (Genesis 22:9)

Remember The King David Principle (I will not offer anything that costs me nothing)

“But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on buying it, for I cannot present burnt offerings to the LORD my God that have cost me nothing.” So David paid him fifty pieces of silver for the threshing floor and the oxen.” (2 Samuel 24:24)

Remember The Jesus Principle (I am to do my Father’s Business)

“But why did you need to search?” he asked. “You should have known that I would be in my Father’s house.” But they didn’t understand what he meant.” (Luke 2:49, 50)

Remember The Eunuch Principle (choosing not to marry for the Kingdom of God)

“Some are born as eunuchs, some have been made that way by others, and some choose not to marry for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. Let anyone who can, accept this statement.” (Matthew 19:12)

Remember The Paul principle (Live a Celibate Life / Have A Wife or Husband)

    “Now about the questions you asked in your letter. Yes, it is good to live a celibate life. But     because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.”   (1 Corinthians 7:1,2)

THE PRINCIPLE OF SACRIFICE -- admitting that something is costly YET THE CALL IS COSTLIER!

Not good for a man to be alone!
    But boy, what a tragedy for a boy and girl left all alone together!

Leave that girlfriend / boyfriend if she / he could not live first alone in God and what she / he wants is only you by her / his side!
    God will give you a wife who will say till death do us part!
    God will give you a husband who will cling for richer or for poorer!

Master Mission Mate (Advanced)
God's Choice, My Choice or My Choice God's Choice?
(MMM for Young Single Professionals)

Implies that you have responsibly obeyed God's moral standards to a point that you have reached freedom of choosing things in life which includes even your Mate. This is having the "mind of Christ" in you!

This requires strict adherence to:

(1) Biblicalness of your Standards.
(2) Holiness unto the Lord.
(3) Prayerfulness.
(4) Spirit-filledness.
(5) Humbleness.
(6) Total Embracing of God's Desires in General!

As John MacArthur said in his book "FOUND: God's Will",
"You can do anything you want to do after being sure of the following personal experiences:

(1) You are Saved (A Child of God and thus having Special Privileges).
(2) You are Sanctified (Holy in your Heart, Mind and Will).
(3) You are Surrendered (Doing the basic Christian Disciplines of a Disciple).
(4) You are Spirit-filled! (walking in the Holy Spirit of God evidenced by His Fruit)

Have you reached this point in your life that you are doing the ways of God -- therefore godly?
That you are thinking the "thoughts of God" -- therefore in obedience to Philippians 4:8?

That you are loving the ways of God -- therefore, holy?

That you are mastered by the Word of God -- therefore, prophetic -- moving in accordance to the "rhema" of God?

That you are consumed with His Cause - therefore a man or woman of faith?

Immorality in MODERN Times

"Sexual activity has increased among American adolescents since the early 1970's.
National statistics show the average age at first sexual intercourse is 17 for females
and 16 for males.

By age 20, three out of four females (3 out of 4) and five out of six males (5 out of 6)
                    have had sexual intercourse at least once.
                    One in six (1 in 6) fifteen year old boys and one in twenty (1 in 20) 15
                    year old girls have had sexual intercourse.

Kinsey Report is quoted as saying,
"It is time to admit that incest need not to be perversion or a symptom of mental illness ... Incest between ... children and adults ... can be beneficial."

Sadly, the problem is epidemic among our Christian youth, as well.

The following statistics concerning the sexual activity of "church youth" are taken from
the executive summary report of the Teen Sex Survey In the Evangelical Church
(Josh McDowell Ministry, 1987, p. 3):

By age 13 -- 20% of church youth have engaged in fondling
                            and / or sexual intercourse

By age 16 -- 53 % of church youth have engaged in fondling
                            and / or sexual intercourse

By age 18 -- 65 % of church youth have engaged in fondling
                            and / or sexual intercourse

By age 18 -- 43 % of church youth have experienced sexual intercourse.
36 % were not able to state that sexual intercourse was unacceptable
            before marriage.

68 % attended at least one "R" rated film within the last 6 months

10% attended at least one "X" rated film within the last 6 months

73 % stated they got "A LITTLE" or "NONE" of their
information about sex from the CHURCH

    = This is a blessing always in the Bible (Go and Multiply was said joyfully after each blessing!)
    = God is the originator of this -- This is God's Idea! Marriage is God’s idea.
    = This is one of life most important decision one has to face after the decision to be Saved in Christ!
    = One wrong turn equals — marital misery, loss of faith, loss of conviction, defeat, condemnation
    = Know and commit to this principle: The best time to "select "a mate is before you "fall in love".
        (Have a Non-Negotiable List before you fall in love!)

"BELIEVE THAT GOD IS just a "LITTLE WISER" THAN YOU ARE, therefore much more dependable!""
FINISH THE FIRST THINGS FIRST THEN MOVE ON!"

This one (M. M. M.) works!
although it is true that others are not palatable to the MMM principle,
yet once this is embraced --- IT WORKS! It has to work for you! WHY? See the reasons below:

MMM glorifies God. Word Based!
MMM waits on God. Trust Oriented!
MMM is God-Centered. Worship Inspired!
MMM is freeing as you yield to it. Liberation Giver!
MMM is God’s order. Priority Centered!

Especially for those who believe it and lives it.

One thing is SURE: It's far more EXCITING and REWARDING.
It is a life of faith, purity and expectancy with your Father who knows best."

The best time to "select" a mate is before you "fall in love".

"FALLING IN LOVE" is an infatuation!
ROMANCE BASED emotions is infatuation!

INFATUATION hates to be told to:
                                           (1) Wait
                                           (2) Separates!
                                           (3) Not to touch!
                                           (4) Not to flirt!
                                           (5) Not to fantasize!
                                           (6) Not to be possessive!
                                           (7) RELEASE!

The MATE Life ...
BEFORE JUMPING TO THIS KIND OF LOVE (EROS), WE NEED TO HAVE A GOOD              UNDERSTANDING OF THE FOLLOWING:

(1) The HOME Life

       -- Important basic institution in any society.
       -- God made this and gave His blessings upon it.
       -- The devil wants to destroy this (thru divorce and separation; adultery and affairs; dryness)
       -- It must start within the MARRIAGE BOND (a life-time of commitment; we have to see it the way God sees it; we must aspire for a fruitful family for the glory of God; you have to see yourself as being spiritually productive and not just another "Love Team". Your marriage relationship should reflect Jesus and that of the Church!
       -- Honoring of Parents should be there (Jesus himself was born in a home, with parents and with
            commitments to teach other) Luke 2:51 — Jesus knew his mission and was committed to     submission.

(2) The Gift of SEX

      -- It is not evil in itself.
      -- Sex drives are normal and has a purpose. This is such a Big Powerful monster that if not tamed, may lead us into ruins. We have to therefore be cautious, be on our guard always and seek ways on how to understand this thing inside to us -- called emotional drives.
      -- A very poor foundation to build a happy marriage. For it fluctuates and is erratic.
      -- A gift from God that should be used only within the bonds of marriage. PREMARITAL SEX should not be given any room! Petting, Necking, Kissing and the like. If not handled properly and     submitted to God, the following will happen again and again: teen age pregnancy; abortions; unwanted babies; single parents; spread of venereal diseases -- AIDS; prostitution; bondage to pornography; loose alternative lifestyles.
      -- We have a poor value education about SEX in schools. (Relationships - Parenting - Holiness & Purity)

(3) The BOY & GIRL RELATIONSHIP

= God created man and found out that "it is not good for a man to be alone" = he needs a suitable helper.
= This will have its time in our lives.
= God knows our needs and if He is our Father, He will provide us our needs. (Although we should not miss the importance of the Gift of Celibacy. "One single lady said: as long as God wants me single that's no problem with me. It is better that way than to live without the blessing of God".
This Boy-Girl relationship is normal and are experienced by BOTH: Girls usually earlier than boys.


The BENEFITS of WAITING:
IF WE WAIT, WE DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THESE THINGS:
    - possession of a person
              - freedom restricted (both parties)
              - fear of loss
              - giving in due to fear of loss (base 1, 2, 3, .. Home run!)
                - PRE-MARITAL SEX?
              - bitterness and deep hurt after loss
                    "Count it all to experience" -- NO! I want my memories to be filled
                         with joy living in the presence and grace of God”

WHY SOME Could NOT Wait?
WHY DO they SEE it to be a NEED?

PEER PRESSURE (want to be accepted; insecurity; fear; teasing; cover-up)
WORLD’s VALUE SYSTEM (Advertisement; fashion; encouraged all over)

A MONTH IS DEDICATED TO THAT! February! as if, if you do not celebrate it theres' something wrong with you. Ways to celebrate and not to celebrate.

BODY DRIVES ( changes in our body; experimentation; curiosity; urges not controlled)

GAP NEEDS (emptiness)
NO VISION (delayed gratification because of HONOR)
OVERCOME by IMMATURE LOVE (puppy love)

(4) THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST
* This is the most important thing that we have to consider first before
entering into anything in our FUTURE LIFE (Salvation; Vocation; Motivation, Emotions)

When is the best time for you to have a mate?

After knowing the Master as Lord of all; Provider; Soveriegn; Faithful and True; and knowing His mission for us (our purpose).

Master Mission Mate principle
I call this ORIGINAL LOVE coz its patterned from the Book of Genesis (my opinion -- PASTOR JR)

a principle EMBRACED by many.
a principle CHALLENGED by some.
a principle APPLIED to gain freedom.
a principle many calls OLD FASHIONED (and it is true), BUT WORKS!
a principle that PROVIDES LESS Head-aches, Stomach-aches and Heart-aches!

introduction:

Master, Mission, Mate is all about RELATIONSHIPS.
Relationships that should be established for a life that is in the will of our Father God.

Like Adam the first man, he had

a MASTER to follow,
a MISSION to do
then came the MATE that was given by God for him to enjoy.

“Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." (Genesis 1:26)

“The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh.
Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought         her to the man.     The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man." At the time we were BORN AGAIN, we are fully restored to the plan of God for fullness in Him.
We have a new MASTER! A new Mission and a lot of surprises in stored for us.
God truly cares and BLESSES His children so abundantly!
This is His PERFECT will for you and me.

Adam had a MASTER
       -- Adam was Created by God (in His image and likeness)
       -- Adam had Fellowship with God (talking & walking together)
       -- Adam was under His Command and Control (obedience expected)

Adam did his MISSION
       -- There was a Responsibility Given (put in the garden to work and care for it)
       -- There was a Garden to Tend (a territory to take responsibility of)
       -- There were Animals to Name and Control (that was its name as Adam called each one)

Adam was blessed by a MATE from God
       -- This was God's Idea (not good for a man to be alone, although awful for a ‘boy’ and ‘girl’ to be alone)

            Remember the 7 B’s
            Books Before Boys Because Boys Bring Babies

       -- This was God's Gift (God made Adam “sleep” and made a partner for him)
       -- This was God's Blessing (Go and multiply was said after the blessing)

Who is really in absolute control?
Is He King? Lord? Over-all our desires and wishes?
Is He Supreme and sovereign over our lives?
Are you His Disciple all the way?
Are you totally dependent on Him?
Do you believe that God has promises and wants the best for you?

Who is Number One in your life?

A Review: “MISSION” 101

Do you understand that you are Under a Calling?
Do you know that you have a Vocation?
A Work to do?
A Purpose to Fulfill?

Notice:
    = Adam was placed in the garden to work and care for it.
    = Since you are already saved God would like to use you to be His representative.
                    (ambassador, light, salt)
    = God is an active God and wants an active powerful church!
    = We are to advance God’s kingdom in every heart, nation, educational system, government         and places of the world — we are to preach the gospel to all creation.
    = We are to make a difference — turn the world up-side-down.
    = We are to create “RIOTS” (righteous invasion of truth).
    = Ask: Am I a God-pleaser or man-pleaser?

A Review “MATE” 101
This NEED has convinced God because He made us as Relational beings … therefore we need people!
This specific NEED is to be MET by God Himself!
That’s why we get married at the Altar … for those who cannot wait … they may be married in a ____________?
God wants the best for you.
God the Father, Knows best.
This is the very thing the devil would like to withhold from you.

Lately, he posted this REPORT on FB: "... yesterday as i ministered to my classmate MATTHEW (not his realy name for confidentiality), i could really discern the oppressing spirit that kept him away from the love of GOD ... and as i kept on sharing the love of GOD for him, he kept on resisting this truth. im starting to get mad why this man is so hard. while he kept talking to me i silently prayed to GOD. the Holy Spirit spoke to me saying i need to rebuke the spirit controlling him. when im about to do it ... time ran out. i just told him that we will meet again in the afternoon after our last subject. as we went our separate ways my spirit was still interceding for MATTHEW, while inside the library as the Spirit led me, i kept rebuking the spirit inside of him and declared salvation for his life. the Holy Spirit totally consumed me that i can no longer stop my mouth in speaking in tongues (as i was in prayer). im at the corner of the library praying in the spirit and suddenly the ground shook and shook that all the students in the library went rushing to the exit. praise GOD that im not shaken ... I continued to pray. JESUS promised that He will be with me in making disciples. i declared and declared while the ground continued to shake. i received a revelation from GOD ... affirming to me that HE and the Heavenly host is with me in making disciples and that earthquake is his proof!!! whooah! this is really it! the time has come to expand the kingdom of GOD :D" (with minor editing to fit the idea).

The Principle of 12 [Vision of 12]

The Background of this Discipleship Model

David Yonggi Cho of the Yoido Full Gospel Church pioneered the cell vision in the 20th century and, is so far, the most successful cell church leader in the world with his church 850,000 members. This model, now known as the ‘5 by 5’ model has been developed by other leaders such as Ralph Neighbour, etc.

In the 1980’s a new cell model began to emerge building on the principle of 12. As the Holy Spirit led Cesar Castellanos and others in Bogota, Columbia. This model carries a new and fresh anointing for cell churches. It is called the ‘G12’ model and it is currently being administered globally under the leadership of Cesar and Claudia Castellanos.

The Model of 12 released into the world

The Bible says “give honour to whom honour is due” (Romans 13:7) and we give honour to Cesar Castellanos as the pioneer of the G12 cell church model. The Model of 12, however, is the property of the Holy Spirit and not of any one person or ministry. Every prophetic and apostolic vision belongs to the whole body of Christ as the Lord leads.

God is raising up multiple expressions of the Model of 12 which are true to the principles and values of the G12 strategy but are being expressed through different apostolic ministries in the world. We are seeing this happen in the USA, India, Africa and Europe and other parts of the world.

This development in the Cell Vision according to the Model of 12 (Principle of 12) will mean that there will be many expressions of what the Holy Spirit is doing through the Cell Church movement. These expressions will be culturally relevant and adapted to the specific needs and circumstances of the people being ministered to.

The Principle of 12

At the base of the Model of 12 is the underlying Principle of 12 and this is an important development in the concept of cell church that the Spirit has been speaking to the Church of Jesus Christ about in recent decades.

It is important neither to exaggerate nor to minimize the scriptural significance of the number 12. There are important principles to be learnt from Scripture about this number. However, we must be careful not to elevate the principle of 12 into a theological imperative, because the Bible never does that. Cell models should build on the principle of 12 without reading too much back into the text of Scripture.

The number 12 does not exist in the NT as an elaborate model for cell church, but the scriptural principle of 12 can be applied to church life today under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is important not to impose any one single model on the whole church or to say that there is only one way of applying the principle of 12.

Numbers in the Bible often have significance. For example, the number 3, is associated with the Trinity, 7 speaks of divine perfection and 6 is the number of man. Clearly these insights are limited in value and cannot be taken too far by reading into Bible texts meanings never intended by the Holy Spirit. However, the number 12 does have clear significance in Scripture.

Jesus chose 12 to reach the multitudes (Matthew 9:35-10:5). He wanted to reach the multitudes but began with a group of 12 men he had previously selected and was training to do the job. Why did Jesus choose12? Why not 11? Why not 13? And why did the apostles replace Judas with Matthias restoring their number to 12 after the loss of Judas?

The significance of the number of 12 in Scripture is demonstrated by Jesus’ choice of 12 to be his main disciples and apostles and to be the primary group he associated with throughout his public ministry.

The key is to understand that Jesus spent most of his time with these 12 chosen disciples, and majored on discipling, training and ultimately releasing them to do the work of the kingdom of God. If this is what Jesus did, who are we to try and do it any other way? Surely the Lord’s example is something we can follow. True, his situation was spiritually and historically unique. His 12 were to become the foundation of the New Testament Church and the foundations of the City of God. But Jesus’ method in fulfilling these things can also be an effective model for what he calls us to do today.

There have been many uses of the principle of 12 in Church history. Britain was evangelized by monks who built cells around the principle of 12. Wesley had his groups of 12, and Robert Coleman, 40 years ago in his book, “Master Plan of Evangelism”, pointed out the reasons why Jesus concentrated on his 12:

“Here is the wisdom of his method, and in observing it, we return again to the fundamental principle of concentration on those he intended to use. One cannot transform a world except as individuals in the world are transformed, and individuals cannot be changed except as they are molded in the hands of the Master. The necessity is apparent not only to select a few helpers, but also to keep the group small enough to be able to work with them… All of this certainly impresses one with the deliberate way that Jesus proportioned his life to those he wanted to train. It also graphically illustrates a fundamental principle of teaching: that other things being equal, the more concentrated the size of the group being taught, the greater the opportunity for effective instruction.”

The principle of 12 is therefore clear. Whatever other significance of the number 12 holds, it is the optimum number for intense and personal discipleship. This is shown by the Lord’s example as well as the work of sociologists today who confirm this principle.

The Model of 12 builds on this principle of 12 and organized the cells into groups of 12. This is where leaders are discipled, nurtured, trained and mentored. Each person in a group of 12 is encouraged to have their own cell where they fulfill their call as leaders – to evangelize the lost, nurture new believers and raise up leaders of their own – who in turn become part of their group of 12. And so the process is repeated. Once this multiplication according to the factor of 12 sets in, rapid growth begins to occur. The 12 grow to 144, and then to 1,728, to 20,736 and so on.

One of the greatest advantages of the Model of 12 is that everyone can be personally mentored and discipled into leadership. It is a relational, not a supervisory model, and that is characteristically how discipleship happens. People can make great progress in their Christian life and ministry, knowing there have the support and back up the Model of 12 gives them.

FAR MORE THAN AN ATOM BOMB
Son Yang Won pastored the ae Yang Wong Leper church in Yosu. Because the town was distant, his two sons lived with a family to attend high school.
There was a sudden communist takeover in the town where his sons were due to the seesaw conflict of North and South Korea. Many deaths followed as those who were perceived to be obstacles to the communist program were executed.
His two sons were urged to flee but they answered, “in war between belief and unbelief, there was nowhere to flee except to the Lord”.
They instead prayed and prepared for death.
One mid-morning, they were dragged and beaten to cure them of their religious foolishness.
Ahn Chae Son, the group’s leader, warned that they would be killed unless they change their mind. The two showed a glowing testimony of their faith in Jesus. Tong-in, the older, requested for the release of his brother to take care of their parents but Ahn shot him. Rushing to his brother’s body, Tong-sin, the younger, urged them “to reprent of what they had done, accept jesus and be saved”. He too was killed.

Upon hearing the news, Mr. Son went into prayer … “he thanked God for the honor of being the father of two young martyrs and prayed for the student who shot them. Then, he prayed for the grace to forgive the boy also.”
The takeover proved to be short lived. The town was retaken and the killer Ahn was captured. But the pastor made a personal plea of mercy for him to the authorities.
My sons were ready to die, for they were Christians. This boy is not ready. He does not know the Lord Jesus. Please turn him over to me. I want to tell him of the love of the Lord Jesus for him … I shall send a request of pardon to President Rhee, whom I know personally.
He took Ahn to his parents and talked to them about the love of Jesus on Calvary. They knelt together as they accepted Jesus in their hearts as lord and savior. The young boy became a devout Christian and went to the Higher Bible Institute for studies. He became the adopted son of Son Yang Won.
The Ahn family also adopted one of the pastor’s daughters who in turn continued to teach them the Christian life.
The story became probably the best known and most publicized testimony to the faith. It went from mouth to mouth from all over the country …

A Great Quote! I heard this from one of our Pastors last Sunday -- Pastor Glenn.
I was excited to hear the Word of God preached! Living Larger than Life THRU Prayer was the message ... and the QUOTE I am referring to that was used was: "All Failure is Prayer Failure".

No wonder ... many failures happen.
No wonder David won most if not all his battles ... coz he inquired of the LORD! He failed NOT to pray.
No wonder in some churches, revival is preserved! ... IT IS BECAUSE THEY PRAY!

ALL FAILURE IS PRAYER FAILURE!

I don't want to fail.
I must pray.
I must connect with and to the Father in Jesus Name through the power of the Holy Spirit!

I must desire others to succeed too!
I must teach them the POWER OF PRAYER; THE SECRET TO SUCCESS; THE SOURCE THAT IS UNTAPPED to live larger than life!

Here we go ...

ANGRY BIRD article -- PART 2

Got this OLD FASHIONED article regarding PRAYER in preparation for the OMNIPOTENT OCTOBER 2011 series God has placed in my heart to teach my self and our church family.

I believe we are to disciple people to really pray the "Disciple's Prayer" [aka the "Lord's Prayer"] ... the one taught by the Master Himself, Jesus (see Matthew 6).

I believe that as we make disciples ... WE ARE TO PRAY THE "DISCIPLE'S PRAYER"
I believe that there is a possibility for people to pray THEIR prayers ... and NOT the "DISCIPLE'S PRAYER" as taught by Jesus which centers on God's Holiness; God's Will; God's Kingdom; God's Agenda; God's Provision; God's Power .... hmmmm.

I'm excited to be part of this move again that God has placed in all of our HEARTS to pray, fast, and flow in the powerful kingdom will of God through prayer.
AS THE HARVEST OF PEOPLE ARE CONSOLIDATED ... we are also to make sure that this is covered in godly prayer lest it might become again an organizational enterprise oiled by human wisdom and the skills of professional organizationism. (im inventing new words here ... he he he) ...

We are constantly on a stretch, if not on a strain, to devise new methods, new plans, new organizations to advance the Church and secure enlargement and efficiency for the gospel. This trend of the day has a tendency to lose sight of the man or sink the man in the plan or organization. God’s plan is to make much of the man, far more of him than of anything else. Men are God’s method. The Church is looking for better methods; God is looking for better men. “There was a man sent from God whose name was John.” The dispensation that heralded and prepared the way for Christ was bound up in that man John. … When God declares that “the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him,” he declares the necessity of men and his dependence on them as a channel through which to exert his power upon the world. This vital, urgent truth is one that this age of machinery is apt to forget. The forgetting of it is as baneful on the work of God as would be the striking of the sun from his sphere. Darkness, confusion, and death would ensue.

What the Church needs today is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use—men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men—men of prayer.

Where are the Christly leaders who can teach the modern saints how to pray and put them at it? Do we know we are raising up a prayerless set of saints? Where are the apostolic leaders who can put God's people to praying? Let them come to the front and do the work, and it will be the greatest work which can be done. An increase of educational facilities and a great increase of money force will be the direst curse to religion if they are not sanctified by more and better praying than we are doing. More praying will not come as a matter of course. The campaign for the twentieth or thirtieth century fund will not help our praying but hinder if we are not careful. Nothing but a specific effort from a praying leadership will avail. The chief ones must lead in the apostolic effort to radicate the vital importance and fact of prayer in the heart and life of the Church. None but praying leaders can have praying followers. Praying apostles will beget praying saints. A praying pulpit will beget praying pews. We do greatly need some body who can set the saints to this business of praying. We are not a generation of praying saints. Non-praying saints are a beggarly gang of saints who have neither the ardor nor the beauty nor the power of saints. Who will restore this breach? The greatest will he be of reformers and apostles, who can set the Church to praying.

Hallelujah for the Renewal and Desire that I see happening in our church today (NATION-WIDE) with regards to PRAYER. This Prayer HABIT will turn into a DELIGHT! I believe more and more people will PRAY.

This is our Life-line ... our Intimate-Line and Powerful-Line with Father God!
JESUS PRAYED.
Always.
Many times in a day.
He tutored His Disciples to do so too.

Pray without CEASING [1 Thessalonians 5:17].
WHY?
It is a picture of dependence and who is really in control.
In all we have to do ... it has to be WHAT GOD HAS TO SAY ABOUT IT and WHAT HIS WORD ENDORSES. We must pray. We must pray the Word of God!

PRE ENCOUNTER PREPARATION

Pre-Encounter preparations are very important.
This will determine the level of receptivity of the people who will attend the Encounter Weekend.
Make sure to invest quality preparation days before the scheduled Encounter.

What should leaders do to have excellent preparation?
(1) Pray and Fast.
(2) Review the Encounter Flow.
(3) Re read the Encounter Guide or Manual. THIS IS VERY IMPORANT.
(4) Have a Re-Training.
(5) Remind all Life Group leaders who have a delegate to the Encounter to process the participant before they go to the Encounter.
(6) Promote all you can in the best of your ability DAYS BEFORE the actual Encounter.
(7) Venue related transactions must be done professionally.

What should a Participant do?
(1) Must have finished the One2One or Crossover Lessons and or had an Inductive Bible Study assignment. It would be powerful if the Participant themselves FAST for this Encounter Weekend.
(2) Must raise at least 30percent of what is required for Encounter Fees. Better yet if they can raise the full amount.
(3) Must have read the Encounter Guidelines.

A BORROWED ARTICLE: What Can We Not Afford to Lose?

Three Things Your Church Can’t Afford to Lose
(And Six Keys for Keeping Them) by Greg Stier from Dare 2 Share Ministries

There are many churches that, year after year, are losing some of their most precious resources.
As a result their numbers are shrinking, their congregations are graying and their passion is dying.
What are these churches losing?

The next generation!

I’m convinced that if senior pastors don’t take immediate—even drastic—action, the body of Christ is going to lose more than just a handful of teenagers attending their youth groups. They will lose the battle with Satan for the soul of America. After all, ultimately America is not going to be transformed from the outside in (pickets, protests and political action) but from the inside out (revival, repentance and reaching out)! Who better to lead this revival than a generation of young people? The problem comes when we begin to open our eyes to the grim reality that teenagers are evacuating the church. Instead of revival we are seeing what I have come to call, The Great Graduation Evacuation. If the statistics continue to spiral downward when it comes to the retention of the next generation, then we could look like post-Christian Europe in short order.

Maybe this sounds a little alarmist to you.
But remember that most of the spiritual disasters that take place in the body of Christ don’t usually come in the form of “earthquakes” but “erosion”. The silent, subtle wearing away and walking away of young people from the body of Christ is not as obvious as a sudden mass exodus, but it is every bit as dangerous for the future of the church…maybe even more. At least with a mass exodus we would see the enormity of the problem and would most likely take immediate action.

The grim fact is that we are losing the next generation and most pastors are doing little to stop it. Maybe it’s because (and this may sting a bit) many pastors are more concerned about retaining the big givers (who tend to be adults) than they are the small donors or non-donors. But when we lose teenagers out of our churches, we lose more than their current and future donations. When we lose young people on a local church level we lose three things that our churches can’t afford to lose:

1. We lose our best families.

2. We lose our potential revolutionaries.

3. We lose our future leaders.

Let’s start at the top.

You love your kids and I love mine.
We want to send our kids to the best schools possible. You and I would never knowingly send our children to a school where we know that the quality of education they are receiving is below par.

What’s true of their education is also true of their spiritual formation.

Imagine with me, for a moment, not being a pastor at your church. Would you feel comfortable as a congregation member at your own church sending your teenagers to your youth group? (Obviously if you don’t have kids or your kids are too young or too old for youth group, you’ll have to imagine a little harder!)

Time for some hard questions…

Does the youth leader at your church spend more time entertaining than training?
Is it more about the fun, games, songs and pizza parties than truly equipping these teenagers to know, live, share and own their faith in Jesus?
Could the teenagers in your youth group adequately explain the basics of their faith to a non-believer?
Are the graduating seniors in your youth group ready to face off with the Philosophy 101 professors they will encounter their freshman year at a secular college?

It may hurt to take an honest look at your youth group, but it is vital that you do. Maybe even make a surprise visit this Wednesday night (or whenever the youth group meets) and watch from the back. Are the teens truly getting effectively trained or merely entertained?

By the way, if the answer to this question is not what you want it to be, don’t be too hard on your youth leader. He or she is merely living in a system that has been unknowingly, non-maliciously delivered to him or her by their youth ministry forefathers.

The system of youth ministry is broken in the United States. It is based on a 1960’s and 70’s meeting driven, entertainment laden, “truth lite” model. Postmodern teens are way too sophisticated and busy to waste their time in a youth ministry that is, well, wasting their time. They want mission. They want action. They want truth. But to transform from a meeting-driven to a mission-driven approach will take time, effort and a whole lot of wisdom.

Are you willing to take the journey with your youth leader, to help him or her build a youth ministry that truly changes lives? At the very minimum, are you willing to get them going in the right direction?

If your answer is “no” then realize that the sharpest parents of pre-teens and teens in your church may soon be taking their tithes elsewhere. Because they, like you and me, want only the best for their kids. If you aren’t willing to take action you could very well lose your best families (and their tithes) to the church down the block that is challenging and equipping their teens.

You could also lose your potential revolutionaries.

Before you write off the teens in your youth group as potential spiritual revolutionaries consider this:
In the last 300 years EVERY major spiritual awakening in America has had young people on the leading edge.

As a matter of fact, I’m convinced that Jesus himself used primarily teenagers to launch the early church. Check this passage out:

After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, “Doesn't your teacher pay the temple tax?” “Yes, he does,” he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes—from their own sons or from others?” “From others,” Peter answered. “Then the sons are exempt,” Jesus said to him. “But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”
-Matthew 17:24-27

I find it interesting that it seems that only Peter and Jesus had to pay the temple tax, yet all the disciples were there. What’s the significance of that? According to Exodus 30:14 this tax was only for those who were twenty years old or older.

What does this mean?
It means that there is a good chance that most of the disciples were teenagers when they began to follow Jesus. It also means that, in a sense, Jesus was a youth group leader with only one adult sponsor (Peter) and one really bad kid (you know who).

With this small youth group Jesus, quite literally, transformed the world forever. He did this all without a worship band, a youth room or a budget.

Jesus has used teenagers to change the world from the inception of the church. And he wants to use them today. He wants to use your teenagers to make a difference. Maybe that’s why I love 1Corinthians 1:26-29.

Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

If that’s not a case for youth ministry, I don’t know what is. God loves to use the unlikely, the ignoble, the foolish things to accomplish his purposes. He’s been doing that for thousands of years.

You and I have both heard stats floating around about how many teens are evacuating the church. While some of these numbers may be inflated there is no doubt that there is a huge problem.

But the problem is not just after they graduate. It starts long before. As Mike Yaconelli (founder of Youth Specialties) wrote years ago, there are more freshman in the average youth group than sophomores and more sophomores than juniors and, you guessed it, more juniors than seniors.

Why? Because the average teen in the average youth group is not being challenged and equipped to transform their world for Jesus. Instead they are being entertained with games and being taught harmless devotionals that don’t really challenge their minds or their lifestyles.

On the positive side, I truly believe that there is a sleeping giant in our midst. I truly believe that if we cast a vision to our young people, equip them with significant theology (while showing them how relevant it is to their everyday lives) and unleash them to reach their communities and campuses for Christ, then we could see a true awakening of Biblical proportions sweep our nation and then our planet.

But for this to happen, it’s going to take your involvement. Truly effective youth ministry starts, not with the youth leader, but with the senior pastor. The pastors usually determine who the youth leader is going to be, the kind of philosophy they are going to run by and the budget that they are going to have.

If you sweep youth ministry under the rug and delegate (or abdicate) it to the youth leader, you may be putting a nail in the coffin of potential awakening in your community.

And not only will you lose your potential revolutionaries today. You’ll lose your future leaders tomorrow.

Too many pastors I know live in the now. But we are compelled by Scripture and the example of the Apostle Paul, to be pouring into the “Timothys” that will be running our congregations when we are off the scene. Jesus poured into the young revolutionaries of his day (we call them the disciples) and they shook the world when he was off the scene.

My challenge to you is to be a pastor to your whole church (adults, teens and children alike)! Shepherd the entire flock.

Does that mean you have to become a youth leader? NO! It means that you must become a leader to your youth leader, that you must work with him or her to develop the model of ministry that is going to produce fully developed young disciples and unleash these revolutionaries today!

How?

I actually wrote an entire book on the how called Ministry Mutiny…a youth leader fable. Using the power of story, Ministry Mutiny provides a window into the life of a young youth leader named Ty who is drafting his resignation letter because, in his words, he has “become the babysitter he promised he never would be.” He puts the letter in his pocket and goes to one last youth leader network meeting to mentally say goodbye to his buddies before handing his resignation letter.

But at the network meeting he encounters Tony, a twenty-six year youth leader veteran. Tony becomes Ty’s confessional. After a few hours of hard, gut-level talk, Tony challenges Ty to learn how to commit “ministry mutiny,” an uprising, not against his pastor or church, but against the system of youth ministry delivered to him by his youth leader forefathers. He offers to mentor Ty and help him explore the six key principles of ministry mutiny. Here is what they cover:

Listening for God is not about waiting for an audible voice from him. Ty learns that it’s about listening to God everyday as he reads the Word and stays in tune with the Spirit who will guide him through the mud and crud of ministry.
Being honest about the spiritual condition of youth group teens can be a brutal experience. Ty steps up to ask and answer hard questions about where his teens are at.
Unleashing teenagers for effective evangelism should be a critical component of every youth ministry. Tony shows Ty how effective outreach can bring new life, excitement and spiritual ownership into his youth group.
Today’s teens are hungry for spiritual truth. Tony teaches Ty something unexpected…the importance of equipping teenagers in theology. He challenges Ty to help teenagers grow deep into the Word as they go wide into the world.
Deuteronomy 6 was written to parents, not youth leaders. Ty learns from his mentor how to work with the senior pastor to engage the parents in the spiritual formation of their own teenagers.
Fads and movements come and go. So Tony challenges Ty to evaluate current trends like the emergent movement, by examining them in light of the timeless Biblical principles that work in any age - postmodern, modern or whatever.

By the way, although I’m the president of Dare 2 Share and spend the majority of my time training and equipping teenagers to know, live, share and own their faith, I was a church planter and preaching pastor for ten years. We used all of these principles at our church. As a result 65% of our congregation came to Christ through our church’s efforts. And guess what? The youth group has always been a big part of bringing this excitement and raw-edged evangelism into the lifeblood of our entire church!

But I’m sharing these principles with you, not just as a former preaching pastor, but as a guy who was deeply impacted by his own senior pastor when I was a teen.

I thank God for Pastor “Yankee” Arnold. As a teenager growing up in his church, it was obvious he had a special fondness for youth ministry. He was hands-on involved in the spiritual development of everyone in church - teens, children and adults. He mentored the youth leaders and equipped them how to lead us toward the Great Commission. He helped identify potential pubescent preachers in his church, had us go through Biblical Preaching by Haddon Robinson (while we were in seventh grade by the way) and gave me my first opportunity to preach in a big church, although my voice was a few years away from dropping an octave or two. And I’m not the only one he impacted. My best friend and cohort in ministry, Rick Long, now pastors the church I used to preach at, and he too was equipped by Yankee and others while still in junior high school.

My hope and prayer for you is that your church explodes and grows through an infusion of fresh, young blood, that you keep your best families and that you unleash an army of revolutionaries through your youth ministry that will change the way we do ministry now and for the next generation!

Who prayed BEFORE DAY BREAK?
Jesus did.

Some of us are in the process of doing so right now at His Life!

WHY?

because we are believing God for Revival.
because the greatest resource a church has is PRAYER (not people, pesos, programs nor practices -- all of these come in second)
because JESUS did so as recorded in Mark 1:35 (NOTE: this was the day after a very hectic healing schedule ... nevertheless HE PRAYED!)

Today many will RISE UP LONG BEFORE DAYLIGHT for many reasons BUT PRAYER!

many people rise before day break FOR MARKETING PURPOSES but not to PRAY.
many people get up while it is still dark FOR AN EXCURSION 150 kilometers away but not to PRAY.
many people get out of bed very early in the morning FOR WORK in a CALL CENTER but not to PRAY.
many people are excited to get up while it is still dark to FETCH SOMEONE at the AIRPORT but not to PRAY.
many people rise up before day break FOR a SPORTS COMPETITION (running, biking, warming up, etc) but not to PRAY.
many people get up while it is still dawn TO TRY OUT A NEW 24 HOUR FOOD CHAIN in town but not to PRAY.
many people get out of bed very early in the morning FOR HEALTH (walking, jogging, biking, etc) but not to PRAY.
many people are excited to get up while it is still dark TO BE AT THE FRONT SEATS of a BIG TIME CONCERT but not to PRAY.
BUT JESUS, THE VERY SON OF GOD woke up during the FOURTH WATCH of the DAY (between 3am and 6am) to PRAY! That was the AGENDA of HIS LIFE! PRAYER! Not breakfast first ... not a sport event first ... not for someone, a VIP in the flesh BUT RATHER to PRAY TO FATHER GOD first! Wow!

THE AGENDA OF JESUS is PRAYER!

Everything sprung forth from there.

Someone said ... JESUS HAD ONLY ONE MINISTRY --- and that was PRAYER MINISTRY. All the rest flowed from that MINISTRY of His.

HE DID NOT START A PROGRAM WITH AN ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING, A VOTATION, A DISCUSSION, A CONFERENCE, A COUNCIL MEETING, A FORUM ... but He started His Work in PRAYER ... and that was daily!

Lord teach us to PRAY.
Teach us to really DO.

It was a life-style. It lasted for a number of years. It is also the reason why we have tremendous growth right now as a church. In Mark 3:13-19:

¹³Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him.

¹⁴He appointed twelve—designating them apostles—that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach ¹⁵and to have authority to drive out demons.

¹⁶These are the twelve he appointed:

Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter);
¹⁷James son of Zebedee and his brother John

(to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means Sons of Thunder);

¹⁸Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew,

NOTICE the following:

JESUS formed a distinct group of 12 men who were among his followers.
This special group constituted the foundation of the church.
From a large group, JESUS chose a SMALLER group.
Christ has many disciples … but during the time to prepare for apostleship [PEOPLE TO BE SENT OUT], he chose only 12.
He made sure they know why they were selected --- from DISCIPLESHIP to APOSTLESHIP! This was made very clear.

In his choosing THE TWELVE — He acted in His own Sovereign interest ... notice the flow of HIS SELECTING (based from Scripture above):

(1) The Priority of Prayer.

(2) Calling unto Him.

(3) Those He Wanted.

(4) To Be with Him.

(5) They came to Him.

I. QUALIFICATIONS:

a) Meets the qualifications of an elder (1 Timothy 3:1-13; see also Titus 1:6-9) and has a growing personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Here is a trustworthy saying:
If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task.
Now the overseer must be
above reproach,
the husband of but one wife,
temperate,
self-controlled,
respectable,
hospitable,
able to teach,
not given to drunkenness,
not violent but gentle,
not quarrelsome,
not a lover of money.
He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect.
(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family,
how can he take care of God’s church?)
He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil.
He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.

Deacons, likewise, are to be
men worthy of respect,
sincere,
not indulging in much wine,
and not pursuing dishonest gain.
They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.
They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect,
not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.
A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well.
Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.

b) Is physically, emotionally, and mentally able to fulfill the duties assigned.

c) Has experience as a spiritual leader.
Has grown his 12 [LIFE Group] and has released people into the ministry of Life Groups under the PEP-SOL course.

d) Has a compelling desire to lead people to faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ and on to spiritual maturity.

e) A covenanted member of the church at His Life.

f) Has undergone LTS [Leadership Training School]
Year1 (SOL 1,2 3),
Year2 (Basic DOCTRINE)
and
Year3 (Deeper Doctrine and Ministry) trainings.

g) Actively leading an L Group [Leadership Group], LIFEGroups for Leaders of 12.

II. RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Disciple the local church in loving Jesus and in accomplishing the vision of winning people, bonding believers, training disciples and sending leaders in the Vision of 12.

b) Submit to a Pastor’s LIFEGroup for mentoring and supervision.

c) Attend a His Life Pastor’s meeting or conference.

d) Make a weekly update and report of local church’s WIN, BOND, TRAIN, SEND progress and other ministry related updates through the His Life local church website (e.g multiply account or website assigned by the Missions department) or through emails.

e) Submit regular report required by the Missions Department.

f) Undergo regular trainings and seminars provided by the One His life Movement or Missions Department.

This is sharing how your relationship with Jesus has impacted your life.

What is a Testimony?
When we commit ourselves to Jesus, a change takes place in our lives.
This changed-life story is what is known as a testimony.
“Testimony” means sharing how your relationship with Jesus has impacted your life. The Bible tells us that when we become Christians our “old” self is put in the past and that we are made new because of Christ. The process of being “made new” is what a testimony reveals.

Testimony comes from the word testify. You might recognize this term as something that a witness in a court might give – they “testify” as to what they know or what they saw. When you share about what Christ has done in your life you are testifying to His presence.

Telling the story of Christ in your life is part of reaching out to others by telling them about God. You don’t need to be a Super-Christian to give your testimony, and your story doesn’t need to be flashy or dramatic; you only need to have a desire to tell others about God in your life and a commitment to living God’s way.

If you’re thinking about sharing with the high school ministry how Christ has impacted your life, we would like to congratulate you. We think it’s incredible that you are thinking about sharing how God has worked in your life. Just picking up this sheet takes a great deal of courage – we’re proud of you!!! This resource will help your students examine their life and think about how God has impacted his or her life. This tool has two parts: in the first part, a student does a brief study on the “testimony” of Paul; in the second part, he writes his own. Writing Your Personal Testimony
The Example of the Apostle Paul
One of the privileges and responsibilities of Christians is to share with others our faith in Christ. Although many methods and plans can be used to communicate our faith, none is more effective than sharing how the love, grace, and mercy of Christ has changed our lives.

People to whom we witness may evade issues, attempt to discredit biblical and historical facts, or blame their condition on others. But it’s hard to discount the authentic testimony of a believer whose life has been transformed.

That’s the reason for this lesson. Completing the worksheet will better equip you to give a logical and organized presentation of who Jesus Christ is and what he has done in your life.

Let’s use the story of Paul’s conversion as a pattern for your testimony.

I was in 4th year High School then.
Praise the LORD for the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ shared to us by an American Missionary.

I got SAVED.
I got BORN AGAIN.
I received NEW LIFE.
I followed the LORD by grace's power!
I am FREE!

A call birthed.
A vision received.
A blessing --- "GO WITH THE VISION" spoken!

The PASTiORATE has begun inside of me!
God launched His Life Ministries.
God made sure that I will have a "help meet" -- Trixie!
God made sure that it will be practical and transferable -- He gave us Joshua and Trina!
TO DISCIPLE FIRST!

God made sure that it will be for the long haul in the church of HLM -- He made sure we will Disciple people! Never Entertain. Never put up a show. Never "programs" ... but THE PROGRAM of Discipleship! Just as the Master said it to be so.
God introduced us to PURPOSE for LIFE!
God made sure that it will ACCELERATE ... together with fellow pastors in the Vineyard -- He gave us The Vision of 12!

Until today THE VISION of giving God all the Glory and seeing committed true-blue fruitful followers of JESUS serving Him and His Agenda (Evangelism, Discipleship and Leadership) remains.

We desire for all to believe the words of Jesus, obey His commands and do His works in love. We aim first to grow as disciples of Christ ourselves and then to make disciples of others through relationship building in small groups --- Life Groups.

It is our conviction that each child of God is called to bring Christ-like influence wherever God has placed them, therefore each follower of Jesus is called to be a leader. We uphold the Jesus kind of Leadership -- that is through servant-hood and influencing others to follow God and His ordained biblical leaders.

10. UNITY WITH OTHER CHURCHES
We are convinced that all followers of Christ are one in His Body, the Church. We aim to maintain unity by honoring all who "call on Jesus' name" and by seeking reconciliation with all parts of the church.

The Vision of 12:
An example Jesus left us regarding DISCIPLESHIP in a small group context [His 12].

Notice: Jesus and His 12 Disciples:

• He CHOSE 12 to be his helpers and partners in ministering to the masses (see Matthew 9:35-10:1 and Mark 3:13, 14).

• He STAYED with them continually, hence, there is a permanence of relationships.

• He IMPARTED himself and modeled his life for them to follow so that in turn they were able to lead and disciple others.

AT HIS LIFE, we believe that EVERYONE can be a leader and should be developed into
one. All should be prepared to be a disciple-maker in small groups (LIFE GROUPS).

Through the Vision of 12 at His Life Ministries, everyone is mentored so that, in turn, he can mentor others using the PEP-SOL course / track (ALL MATERIALS ARE ALREADY MADE AVAILABLE FOR USE. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ORDER THEM).

WE BELIEVE IN LONG TERM RELATIONSHIPS.
Dividing the LIFE GROUP is not the method used, instead, RELEASING the ready to lead others is expected and are COVERED through the Leadership LIFE GROUP meetings.

APPLYING THE VISION OF 12:
HOW TO RUN IN THE VISION OF 12:
====================================
a. GET EVERYONE to be part of the ENCOUNTER (a weekend retreat format experience). Bring your friend, contact to the ENCOUNTER. We believe that this is the IGNITION Key to the Process of Discipleship. Help them raise the FEE they need for the Encounter.

b. LEAD EVERY PARTICIPANT into the PRE-ENCOUNTER lessons first. We use either the One2One Booklet or the CROSSOVER Booklet (being developed) or the Pre-Encounter Introductory Lessons provided by the BOND Department of HLM. They must attend the Pre-Encounter Group Orientation a day or two days before the actual ENCOUNTER.

c. PRAY THAT GOD WILL USE YOU to build up a LIFE GROUP of 8, 10 or 12 or 15 people! The most important thing is for you to MAKE THEM INTO DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST. We believe that MEN should disciple the MEN; WOMEN disciples the WOMEN; YOUTHS and CHILDREN are discipled by people who are committed and called to these specialized NETWORKS.

d. PRAYERFULLY FORM YOUR "12" in your Campus, City, or Country.

e. YOUR "12" will eventually FORM their own "12" (THE 144 LEVEL). When this happens, we are now confident that the Vision of 12 is in its JOURNEY to FRUITFULNESS in your local setting (CHURCH or SITE or NETWORK). THE MULTITUDES WILL SURELY COME ... AND SURELY WILL BE HARVESTED (going towards the 1728 LEVEL and beyond).

THE BACKGROUND OF THIS MODEL OF DISCIPLESHIP

The Principle of 12

David Yonggi Cho of the Yoido Full Gospel Church pioneered the cell vision in the 20th century and, is so far, the most successful cell church leader in the world with his church 850,000 members. This model, now known as the ‘5 by 5’ model has been developed by other leaders such Ralph Neighbour.

In the 1980’s a new cell model began to emerge building on the principle of 12 as the Holy Spirit led Cesar Castellanos and others in Bogota, Columbia. This model carries a new and fresh anointing for cell church. It is called the ‘G12’ model and it is currently being administered globally under the leadership of Cesar Castellanos.

The Model of 12 released into the world
The Bible says “give honour to whom honour is due” (Romans 13:7) and we give honour to Cesar Castellanos as the pioneer of the G12 cell church model. The Model of 12, however, is the property of the Holy Spirit and not of any one person or ministry. Every prophetic and apostolic vision belongs to the whole body of Christ as the Lord leads.

God is raising up multiple expressions of the Model of 12 which are true to the principles and values of the G12 strategy but are being expressed through different apostolic ministries in the world. We are seeing this happen in the USA, India, Africa and Europe and other parts of the world.

This development in the Cell Vision according to the Model of 12 will mean that there will be many expressions of what the Holy Spirit is doing through the Cell Church movement. These expressions will be culturally relevant and adapted to the specific needs and circumstances of the people being ministered to.

The Principle of 12
At the base of the Model of 12 is the underlying Principle of 12 and this is an important development in the concept of cell church that the Spirit has been speaking to the Church of Jesus Christ about in recent decades.

It is important neither to exaggerate nor to minimize the scriptural significance of the number 12. There are important principles to be learnt from Scripture about this number. However, we must be careful not to elevate the principle of 12 into a theological imperative, because the Bible never does that. Cell models should build on the principle of 12 without reading too much back into the text of Scripture.

The number 12 does not exist in the NT as an elaborate model for cell church, but the scriptural principle of 12 can be applied to church life today under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is important not to impose any one single model on the whole church or to say that there is only one way of applying the principle of 12.

Numbers in the Bible often have significance. For example, the number 3, is associated with the Trinity, 7 speaks of divine perfection and 6 is the number of man. Clearly these insights are limited in value and cannot be taken too far by reading into Bible texts meanings never intended by the Holy Spirit. However, the number 12 does have clear significance in Scripture.

Jesus chose 12 to reach the multitudes (Matthew 9:35-10:5). He wanted to reach the multitudes but began with a group of 12 men he had previously selected and was training to do the job. Why did Jesus choose12? Why not 11? Why not 13? And why did the apostles replace Judas with Matthias restoring their number to 12 after the loss of Judas?

The significance of the number of 12 in Scripture is demonstrated by Jesus’ choice of 12 to be his main disciples and apostles and to be the primary group he associated with throughout his public ministry.

The key is to understand that Jesus spent most of his time with these 12 chosen disciples, and majored on discipling, training and ultimately releasing them to do the work of the kingdom of God. If this is what Jesus did, who are we to try and do it any other way? Surely the Lord’s example is something we can follow. True, his situation was spiritually and historically unique. His 12 were to become the foundation of the New Testament Church and the foundations of the City of God. But Jesus’ method in fulfilling these things can also be an effective model for what he calls us to do today.

There have been many uses of the principle of 12 in Church history. Britain was evangelized by monks who built cells around the principle of 12. Wesley had his groups of 12, and Robert Coleman, 40 years ago in his book, Master Plan of Evangelism, pointed out the reasons why Jesus concentrated on his 12:

“Here is the wisdom of his method, and in observing it, we return again to the fundamental principle of concentration on those he intended to use. One cannot transform a world except as individuals in the world are transformed, and individuals cannot be changed except as they are molded in the hands of the Master. The necessity is apparent not only to select a few helpers, but also to keep the group small enough to be able to work with them… All of this certainly impresses one with the deliberate way that Jesus proportioned his life to those he wanted to train. It also graphically illustrates a fundamental principle of teaching: that other things being equal, the more concentrated the size of the group being taught, the greater the opportunity for effective instruction.” (Robert Coleman, Master Plan of Evangelism 30th Anniversary Edition, pages 29-31).

The principle of 12 is therefore clear. Whatever other significance of the number 12 holds, it is the optimum number for intense and personal discipleship. This is shown by the Lord’s example as well as the work of sociologists today who confirm this principle.

The Model of 12 builds on this principle of 12 and organised the cells into groups of 12. This is where leaders are discipled, nurtured, trained and mentored. Each person in a group of 12 is encouraged to have their own cell where they fulfill their call as leaders – to evangelise the lost, nurture new believers and raise up leaders of their own – who in turn become part of their group of 12. And so the process is repeated. Once this multiplication according to the factor of 12 sets in, rapid growth begins to occur. The 12 grow to 144, and then to 1,728, to 20,736 and so on.

One of the greatest advantages of the Model of 12 is that everyone can be personally mentored and discipled into leadership. It is a relational, not a supervisory model, and that is characteristically how discipleship happens. People can make great progress in their Christian life and ministry, knowing there have the support and back up the Model of 12 gives them.

WE ARE USING THE "OUR FATHER GUIDE"

The Lord’s Prayer
When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He gave them a simple 6 step pattern to follow, known as the “Lord’s Prayer.”
Jesus didn’t intend for us to just pray the same words he spoke in Matthew 6:9, He intended it to be an outline for prayer. Use each verse of the Lord’s prayer as a guideline to help keep your prayer-time on track.

“Pray, then, in this way:”

Step 1
“Our Father Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.”
This is the call to praise and worship. Take time to honor the Lord and consider His greatness. Remember His faithfulness to you and be encouraged by His promises.

Step 2
“Thy kingdom come Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.”
Align yourself with God’s will, and listen so you can know His desires. Proclaim God’s will over your life, family, church, the lost, etc. Wait and allow the Lord to share His heart and will with you.

Step 3
“Give us this day our daily bread.”
Ask God for your needs and the needs of others. Be specific, and ask in faith for anything you know the Lord wants to give you, i.e. Ask and I will give you the nations as an inheritance. (see step 2).

Step 4
“And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Ask God for forgiveness in any areas of known sin, and speak out forgiveness toward anyone you have not forgiven.

Step 5
“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Ask God for the grace to stand firm in the face of temptation and resist the schemes of the enemy. Remembering to look to Jesus for the way of escape.

Step 6
“For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.”
Finish with proclaiming who God is and exalting His name. Take time to thank Him for the answers to come, and to worship Him.

AN ARTICLE FROM "SAGIP BANSA"
REGARDING THE PROPHETIC
SIGNIFICANCE OF FOURTH WATCHES ...

[FROM 3 AM - 6 AM] -- FOURTH WATCH TIME OF THE BIBLE / DAWN

1. THIS IS A SPECIAL TIME FOR DIVINE JUDGMENTS.

This is the last watch of the night.

This fourth watch is always important because this is the last lap of the night race: this was when Israel was released from Egypt. This watch is the time that those satanic agents who went out to perform their activities are returning back to their bases. This is the time the devil and his cohorts are running back ‘home’ so that they are not caught. This is the time to release judgment on the wicked, who remain stiff-necked after many warnings and rebukes in line with Prov. 29:1. This is the time every enemy chariot would have their wheels removed (Exo. 14:24-28) and all their plans, programmes and policies would fail. This is the period to release the manifestation of the full intensity of the dayspring shaking out the wicked (Job 38:12, 13 cf. Isa. 17:14 – Proclaiming before morning).

Though some scholars believe the dayspring falls between 12 midnight stretching up to 6.00 am, the full impact of its intensity is felt in the final watch of this period (3.00 am – 6.00 am) when it begins to shake everything out. This explains why the agents of the kingdom of darkness: those linked with Satan, heighten their activities, especially between the hours of 12 midnight and 3.00am, knowing that by the next watch (3.00 am – 6.00 am) they’ll have to cease their activities lest they caught by the full intensity of the dayspring.

Testimonies of former witches converted to Christianity attest to this. They tell of experiences, where when they went out of their bodies on witchcraft operation, they had to return into their bodies before 6.00 am, otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to. This is because they will have been shaken out by the dayspring in line with Job 38:13 quoted above. It must be because no spirit is supposed to remain in this state by daybreak, we see this demonstrated by Jacob’s encounter with the Angel of the Lord in Gen. 32:24-30.

2. It is also the time for Deliverance, to Rise and Shine, for Resurrection.

This is time for deliverance according to Exo. 12 and 14.
This is also the time Jesus came walking on the water to release the disciples from the storms according to Matt. 14:25.
This is the time to ask the new day to speak into your life according to God’s will (Psalm 19:2).
This is also the time of declaration of the word.
This is also the time for resurrection power.
This is the time we have to pray that everything that has died in Philippines in terms of potentials should be released.
This is the time to rise and begin to shine (Isa. 60:1-5).
It is also the time for resurrection of every dormant gift.
Every redemptive gift is to rise and shine, that is why, immediately after this watch the sun rises, and shines (Psa. 18:28).
The Lord would light the candle of the Philippines, He would enlighten our darkness and our morning star would no more be dark.
This is the time the stone in front of the tomb of Jesus was rolled away. Every reproach must be rolled away. God says He has a covenant with the day and also with the night.
